portaportese is rome's biggest flea market and, like all things in this city, it is imbued with a love-hate potential unequalled by other flea markets i've ever been to. the unpretentious uncoolness of its sellers has a magnet effect for certain kinds of misanthropes. i have a long standing affection for this place, dating back to early childhood sunday strolls. i love the feeling of chaotic solitude this place creates.
